National School Lunch Week - During the week of October 10-14, we celebrate our amazing Nutrition Services staff and all of the hard work they put in to keep our students fed with healthy meals.

Next week in the elementary, we are celebrating National School Lunch Week. On Monday, it will be dress like a cowboy or cowgirl. Thursday, elementary students can dress like the 60's and 70's and after lunch, we will have a dance party. We appreciate the lunches our lunch ladies prepare, as they are homemade and AMAZING! Friday School is available this Friday, October 7th from 8:00 a.m. until noon. This is an opportunity for students to get some extra help on assignments, or just have a quiet place to work. If your child is not failing, but you would like them to attend, please call the school and Mrs. McGinn can add them to the list. If your child is failing any of their classes, we expect them to attend Friday School.
Please note that our Varsity football team plays tomorrow evening here in North Powder at 7:00 p.m. Our school website has a live athletic calendar, so you can track any changes to our schedule. We also have an app you can download too. We hope to see you here cheering on our Badgers!

This is a reminder that Open House will be this Thursday, September 22nd. We will meet on the front lawn of the old school and then you will have time to wander campus to meet staff members. In the art room, there will be a make-and-take art station and they will be Dia de Los Muertos themed. We look forward to seeing you!

We will be having our school-wide Back to School Night, next Thursday, September 22nd. We will start in front of the old school at 5:00 p.m. to introduce our staff. From there, we hope you have time to visit our classrooms and check in with our teachers. It will be a great evening and we look forward to seeing you.
We will be doing Fall sports' pictures for football and volleyball this Wednesday, September 14th. We will begin with MS football at 4:30, followed by MS Volleyball. Please plan on your athlete being here until 5:15 p.m.
The photographer will take HS girl's volleyball next, and then high school football. Please let all athletes know to have their game jerseys with them for pictures on Wednesday. Mrs. Dixon will hand out picture packets today. Let her know if you have any questions.

We are excited to see you all Tuesday! Our doors will open at 7:30 a.m. and a free breakfast is available for all students. A second chance breakfast will be served in the middle and high school between first and second periods for those who did not eat the first breakfast. The Baker bus will be leaving the DMV at 7:00 a.m. and will stop at the Haines Reliance Connect at 7:20 a.m. If your child is in middle and high school, student schedules can be found on parentvue and studentvue. Locker numbers are on there as well. Students will receive their schedules during first period on Tuesday. This is going to be an amazing year!

The first annual Powder Valley Steak feed will occur Saturday, August 27th at 5:00 p.m. This will take place on the Powder Valley Football Field. The dinner will be catered by Mine City Catering and there are 100 tickets still available, first come first serve or contact brad.dunten@npowdersd.org.
