"If it's green, they are under 18". We have students who are starting to referee at our athletic events. If they have a green whistle, they are 18 or under. We are really proud of them for stepping up and learning the trade of refereeing. Please be respectful to our referees, and thank them for helping out.
#benchbadbehavior
NFHS is hosting a movement to bench bad behavior at athletic events. Athletics is the only place where people yell negatively at adults in front of students. This year we will have high school students officiating at our events. We definitely are not going to allow people to yell at our officials. If we don't allow adults to come into our classrooms and yell, why would we allow it at athletic events? Please help us in this movement.

The Winter Concert is Wednesday, December 13 at 6:30 this year. We are celebrating a Country Christmas. We're having a Hardy Har Hee Haw Hoedown! Students can wear anything country style (hats are possibly not going to work). We want to see handkerchiefs and belt buckles and throw in some muck boots and plaid jackets. Kindly leave the pistols and spurs at home. The School Dinner begins at 4:30 and ends at 6:00. The gym will open around 6:00 and students should basically be in the old gym by 6:15. The concert will last about one hour and be a ton of fun. See ya'll thar! Mr. Carlsen
*** If your child is sick the day of the concert, please do not bring them to the event.
Picture retake day is scheduled for November 29th. If you want your child to take retakes please be sure to bring their original pictures back with them on retake day.
Attendance matters.
Please check out the flyer. This is for first through fourth grade students.

Did you know building literacy skills in Spanish helps build a foundation for literacy in English? Reading with your child in their native language is a tremendous benefit to your child. We have many books available in Spanish in our school library. Please see Mrs. Leonnig or Mrs. Scott if you'd like your child to bring home books in Spanish.
Save the date: the annual halibut feed fundraiser will occur this year on Saturday, March 16th. Tickets will go on sale in January. Mark your calendars for this great event.
We are so excited for this weekend's Trunk or Treat. Thanks to everyone who signed up to bring a Trunk and thank you to all who donated candy and supplies.
If you are signed up for a Trunk, you can arrive any time between 2-4 to set up. We will have all the vehicles back in along the sidewalk in front of the old high school. Games will be on the grass, food served next to the gym doors and the fire pit near the basketball court. Larger vehicles can pull along the gravel in front of the Ag building. Let's have our Trunks ready by 4pm as that is when all the ghosts and ghouls will begin haunting. We will close promptly at 6pm to allow families to tear down and clean up. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 spookiest trunks. Thank you Trunkers !
If you're a Treater, the festivities will run from 4-6. Wear your Halloween costumes and come have some fun !
See you Saturday !

Badger community, fans, parents, and athletes. Attached you will see the 2023-24 middle school basketball schedule. This has changed to where our boys and girls will be traveling together. The boys have had the same schedule the past three years as the schedule being shared. The first practice day will be 11/6 which is 2 weeks later than usual. The girls are aligned with this as well. There will not be any practices during Thanksgiving break or Christmas break, as well as no games during this time period. In the past, our B & C girls’ teams have ended in the middle of February. This year they will be ending 1-2 weeks earlier. The practices are similar to the past with middle school boys and girls having 42 practices and 15 contests. This aligns with middle school boy's football, girl's basketball, and track from past seasons.
We are trying something new this year for a variety of reasons, and one of the most important ones is to align our boy’s and girl’s teams for school spirit, as well as saving on travel expenses. Our goal is to give our athletes a better overall experience. We know with any change, there are kinks, obstacles, positives, and negatives. We will continue to evaluate as we go through this transition. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mr. Dunten. Go Badgers!
